VOICE RECORDING SPECIALISTS

We’ve been recording voices in Central London since 1993, building long-standing relationships with broadcasters, production companies, agencies and content creators in the UK and internationally.

Our work spans television and film, radio and podcasts, animation, games, corporate content and multimedia projects - all supported by a team of experienced engineers and studio staff who understand both the technical and human side of a session.

We’re known for a calm, organised approach to complex productions. From first enquiry through to final delivery, our bookings, engineering and support teams work closely with clients to keep sessions running smoothly, adapting to changing schedules and last-minute demands without losing focus on detail.

The result is straightforward: well-run sessions, clear communication, and audio that is carefully recorded, edited and delivered to a consistently high standard.

FIVE VOICE STUDIOS IN CENTRAL LONDON

A short walk from Oxford Circus and Broadcasting House, our studios are set back from the street in a discreet Fitzrovia location, offering a private and focused environment for clients and talent.

The building itself began life in 1835 as the All Souls Primary School, and later became the home of Advision Studios. Today, that same structure houses five recording and audio post studios, alongside a dedicated podcast filming studio, all carefully adapted to support modern workflows while retaining the scale and character of the original space.

Each studio has its own identity, shaped by the building it sits within and the work it supports - from compact voice booths to larger rooms suited to ADR, group recording and filmed sessions. Together, they form a flexible, interconnected facility designed to handle a wide range of productions with consistency and care.

You can explore each of the studios in more detail via the Studios section.

VOICEOVER RECORDING

Voice recording sits at the centre of what we do at The Sound Company. For more than thirty years, clients have come to us for work across film and television, radio, podcasts, animation, audiobooks, games and branded content, as well as the quieter, less visible parts of production that still need to be handled properly.

Our acoustically treated studios and carefully chosen microphones are there to capture speech with detail, presence and consistency, whether the session is a single voice in the booth or part of a broader production workflow with clients, producers and talent moving through the building.

What matters just as much is how the work is handled. Sessions are run by an experienced, personable team who understand the rhythm of voice recording and the practical demands around it. When a brief extends into radio and podcast production, audio post production or radio day and press junket support, that can stay connected too.

ADR & ADR SUPERVISION

ADR from The Sound Company studios can be heard on productions across the world, from prime time television and BAFTA-winning animation series to major streaming titles and feature films.

There is a particular kind of focus these sessions require: clear cueing, steady judgement and a room that stays calm under pressure. That is part of the work here, along with the wider dialogue-led thinking that helps replacement records settle naturally into the cut.

Our engineers are experienced in the detail of seamless dialogue replacement, whether the brief is animation ADR or live action replacement dialogue, and sessions are run in a way that keeps both talent and production moving cleanly.

AUDIO POST PRODUCTION

We handle audio post across a wide range of voice-led work, from television and cinema advertising to IVR prompts, BBC radio programmes, animated series, podcasts and other productions where dialogue, pace and finish all matter.

That can mean anything from detailed dialogue editing and clean-up to mixing, delivery and more expansive sound design when the brief calls for a stronger sense of atmosphere, texture or scale.

With Quested, Tannoy and PMC monitoring, spacious mix rooms including a 5.1 surround suite, a substantial sound effects library and the tools needed for precise speech-led post, the finishing side of the workflow can stay in careful hands from first edit through to final delivery. You can explore more on our audio post production page and sound design page.

FILMING & LIGHTING

With decades of audio work behind us, filmed podcasts, presenter pieces and animation reference can be handled without losing sight of the recorded sound itself. The picture matters, but the voice still needs to carry properly, and the setup is built around that.

Our 4K video and lighting rig can be moved between our sound studios as well as the larger TV studio, depending on guest numbers, framing and the practical shape of the session. That gives the work some flexibility, whether the brief is intimate and speech-led or needs more room around it.
